Add new user

If you need to add a new user (e.g. for a transcriptionist) follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Workflow tab.

  2. Click on the Add new user icon csm_Add-user_icon_935d897f6c.png in the toolbar.

  3. Fill in the dialog, for more information see the Add user section.

  4. The new user will get a confirmation email to activate the new account.

Create workflow relationships

If your authors use their own transcriptionists (e.g. in-house) its important to link the author account to the transcriptionist account:

  1. Navigate to the Workflow tab.

  2. Click on Settings csm_Cogwheel_icon_03ea8d6b63.png in the toolbar.

  3. Choose Workflow relationships to link an author to a transcriptionist.

    The Creating relationships section covers this process in more detail.

  4. Transcriptionists linked to an author account automatically receive all dictations of the author.

Backup

You can secure all files of your SpeechLive account using the backup function.

  1. Navigate to the Workflow tab.

  2. Click on Settings csm_Cogwheel_icon_03ea8d6b63.png in the toolbar.

  3. Choose Backup from the list.

  4. Click on the Create new backup Icon Create_new_backup.png in the toolbar. Find more detailed information regarding backups in the Backup section.

Change account details

You can change the details of your account anytime:

  1. Go to the Account tab.

  2. Click on the Edit account icon Account_TB_Edit.png in the toolbar.

  3. Update or change the desired details in the list and confirm by clicking on the Save Icon csm_Save_settings_icon_3fffd952a7.png.

Transcription service

Purchase minutes for the transcription service

Note

Purchased transcription service minutes expire after 24 months.

  1. Go to the Account tab.

  2. Scroll down to SpeechLive transcription service and then click Buy transcription minutes.

Enable automatic recharge

Enable the automatic recharge function, which will recharge your account with a predefined amount once your preset threshold is reached.

  1. Go to the Account tab.

  2. Click on the Edit account icon Account_TB_Edit.png in the toolbar.

  3. In the SpeechLive transcription service section, mark the checkbox next to Auto-recharge, select your desired amount of auto-recharge minutes and your desired threshold.

  4. Click the Save Icon csm_Save_settings_icon_3fffd952a7.png.

Select languages

At the beginning of the registration or buying process, you need to select the language for the transcription service.

Note

  • The SpeechLive transcription service supports only one language per SpeechLive account. You can’t change the selected language at a later time.

  • Should you require multiple languages, create a second SpeechLive account and select the desired language.

Activate multi-speaker dictations

Enable the transcription for multi-speaker dictations to allow transcription of interviews, telephone conversations, meetings and more. When you send dictations to the transcription service, you can select if it is a dictation with one, two, three, four, five or more than five speakers. If you select more than five speakers, you will receive an offer via email.

Note

  • The multi-speaker option is only available for purchased accounts.

  • If you enable the transcription for multi-speaker dictations, the auto-recharge checkbox is automatically marked. Since the prices for the transcription of multi-speaker dictations are higher than for single-speaker dictations, it is necessary that your credit is charged sufficiently in order to process your multi-speaker dictations.

  • Users also need to activate multi-speaker dictations in their applications.

To enable the multi-speaker dictations feature:

  1. Go to the Account tab.

  2. Click on the Edit account icon Account_TB_Edit.png in the toolbar.

  3. In the SpeechLive transcription service section, mark the relevant checkbox to enable multi-speaker dictations.

    For full cost control, activate a notification which will inform you via email once your preset threshold is reached: In the SpeechLive transcription service section, mark the checkbox next to the desired notification setting and select your desired threshold.

  4. Click the Save Icon csm_Save_settings_icon_3fffd952a7.png.

Speech to text

Purchase speech-to-text packages

Note

  • Every SpeechLive account receives free speech-to-text minutes to try out this function. However, its not possible to use the free minutes in combination with the speech-to-text package.

  • The speech-to-text package is obtained for the remaining duration of your SpeechLive subscription.

  • Speech to text is only available as an addon package for the Advanced business package.

  1. Go to the Account tab.

  2. Scroll down to Speech to text and then click Add/remove speech-to-text packages.

Activating speech-to-text packages
  1. After you acquired the speech-to-text packages you can check their status in the Online shop section of SpeechLive, right at the top in the Your current product area.

    Number of speech-to-text packages is the total number of available speech-to-text packages for your account.

    Number of active speech-to-text packages shows you how many packages are already activated for your workflow users.

  2. Go to the Workflow tab and select the user for whom you want to activate the speech-to-text package.

  3. In the Edit user screen, activate the checkbox next to the Speech-to-text package option and click on Save changes.

    X This workflow user can now use speech to text in every SpeechLive application.

Tip

You can also deactivate the speech-to-text package later and activate it for a different workflow user.

Deactivate speech to text

Follow these steps if you want to disable speech to text for your SpeechLive account (and all its workflow users) on a global level:

  1. Go to the Account tab.

  2. Scroll down to the Speech to text section.

  3. Click on Disable speech to text.

Select languages

You can select multiple languages for speech to text. When you use speech to text for the first time, a default language is already preselected. SpeechLive recognizes your browser’s system language and selects the language for speech to text accordingly.

Note

You can’t disable the preselected default language. To change the default language, you need to change your browser’s language.

To select languages for speech to text:

  1. Click the Workflow tab. Then click the Settings icon csm_Cogwheel_icon_03ea8d6b63.png on the toolbar and select Speech to text from the drop-down list.

  2. Mark the checkbox next to your desired language(s).

  3. Click the Save Icon csm_Save_settings_icon_3fffd952a7.png on the toolbar.
